After I drank this keg I intended to make a lamp from it. I had cut the bottom from it to take the guts out and to see how it worked. By the way there is an aluminum bottle that would make a hot alcohol stove inside these kegs see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcrW27Leo4w&feature=related for the directions. I happened to have some very stiff stainless steel wire that I sewed in for a fire grate. It was so rigid that I actually riped the keg by pulling to hard on the wire. This works very well and is light weight but I doubt I would carry something this large while backpacking even if I filled it with my cooking set. Who knows, maybe I'll take it someday?

  • Oh really? wow ok I take that back then (lol!) sorry I could have sworn they're aluminum.

  • @ZebbMassiv No problem...There's plenty of Alzheimers here to go around :-)

  • mmmmmm fuming Aluminum. Enjoy the Alzheimer's.

  • @ZebbMassiv Where is the aluminum? The keg is steel. I can take a photo of it right now as it sits and rusts. The fry pan is cast iron. It was inheirited from my grandmother who lived into her late 80's; sound mind and body. Are you offended that I didn't use a Molson keg?

  • im liking the stove dude and im liking tool at the end cool vid man

  • @mountainboarderuk Oh hell, I'm an ass! I hadn't watched this for a long time. So here I was watching to see what tool I used in the video. I forgot Schism at the end. I use Tool a bit in about 4 other vids.. Thanks!

  • never apologize for being a proud omnivore.. if we were lower on the food chain, we would be the subject of nature films

  • @TheLimbReaper I'd be offended if you used a Molson keg. That ain't beer:) I drink Heineken

  • @ZebbMassiv that's a stupid old wives' tale. aluminum doesn't cause alzheimer's. aluminum is one of the most common elements in the earth's crust. everything you eat, plants, animals, contian aluminum.

  • @TheLimbReaper wouldn't matter if it was aluminum because zebb is wrong. aluminum is not the cause of Alzheimers disease. inhaling aluminum fumes will cause respiratory problems but! you obviously aren't inhaling the fumes and what tiny bit of fume is no worse than boiling water in an aluminum pot, which is very common. Now lets see what else, oh ya aluminum takes extreme temps, much higher than a wood stove to cause it to melt and smoke so ya, i doubt there is anything wrong with this.

  • man, now thats the life

  • I've had steak cooked in beer over a campfire, and I think it's one of the best things I ever ate.
