@2old2Rock CBS had censored Belafonte song from airing, (the episode in which he plays with Mama Cass in a Bonanza clip) felt it was too controversial at the time. CBS ended up firing the Smothers Brothers...those were the times!

LOL YEAH!!They're better than any Tom, Dick, and Harry they let on T.V now XD! I wanna shoot myself in the face whenever I hear something about the Kardashians or Snooki -_-' OMFG &what's up with the news?? I'm sure like at least 12 people were brutally murdered, there's a WAR going on, the oil spill isn't 100% cleaned up, the climate has gone coo coo wacky and makes u wonder if the world is gonna end soon x_x BUT somehow the news talks about Lindsey Lohan & Paris Hilton 24/7 O_O?

@RCBIFE I can't find it on youtube but it is on the smothers brothers dvd. I had the disc of Harry on it for a month from netflix. I am now going to buy the smothers brothers season just for the performance!

@Gorky83 Mary Travers did a great version on her solo album "Mary"
The song is actually called "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free." It was written by jazz pianist Billy Taylor and Dick Dallas and originally recorded by Nina Simone. Other excellent recordings are by Ray Charles, Solomon Burke and Swedish singer Doris Svensson (although I think any recording would be amazing).

Thanks for the info. I tried to correct the title but it's too long for Youtube so I had to shorten it a bit.

I was wondering if anyone had Harry Belafonte's solo performance on the Smothers Brothers, which includes the whole entire clip of him singing two songs; the second of which is the whole version of his song "Don't Stop the Carnival". I would greatly appreciate it if it can be posted on here. Thank you for your consideration.

I have another clip of him doing Gordon Lightfoot's "Song For A Winter Night". Alas, I do not have the one you mentioned.
