uh, no... they still make DD, they arent really old school. they are quite possibly the best subs on the market. their flagship sub, Z series holds the record for highest dBs with a single sub, which is over 180 dBs. as well as their mid and low range subs are a way better sub for the money.

DD is in my opinion the best, re for the 2012 lineup are made mostly out of plastic and weigh 20 lbs alpine is also losing sq jl and kicker are always brought back to shops (depending on how people play them) If you want a long lasting sub that will sound great and still BANG go with the digital designs!!

Noone is stopping you from buying DD or anything else, matter a fact I can careless what other ppl have or use for the simple fact ppl are going to buy what they like and know... I have been using JL Audio for 20 years and thats what I like, and if you dont like JL well thats your bizz.

@cosmiccastaway2001 dd is an excellent sq sub and it just happens to be a excellent spl sub as well.i wouldn't run jl if you gave it to me. i would rather buy the dd.

Well the biggest thing about JL that no other speaker company can do is, make a good SQ driver that can play loud *SPL* and still remain true to SQ. All these other RF DD sundown RE etc are all great speaksers, but not everyone is looking for booming bass or to wake the dead.. I want both *when i want it* so hands down JL Audio is one of the best speaker companies in the market and always remember, *you get what you pay for*
