VRP-VBS2 (Virtual Role Players for VBS2) allows instructors to populate VBS2 worlds with articially intelligent virtual role players, which communicate using spoken foreign language and exhibit culturally appropriate behavior. Alelo is developing a collection of virtual role player mission packs, which are libraries of virtual role players designed for particular cultures, languages, and missions.

VRP-VBS2 makes it possible to create highly realistic training environments in which trainees can practice their intercultural competency and foreign language skills, not just their kinetic warghting skills. Trainers can create and run complex scenarios at any time, without relying upon large numbers of human role players to control avatars in the virtual world.

The unique articial intelligence capabilities built into the product enable the virtual role players to engage in rich conversations with human trainees. In typical scenarios trainees must use their language and culture skills to establish trust with the local people, so that they will cooperate with the trainees in the conduct of their mission.

The rst VRP-VBS2 mission pack is designed for information gathering missions in Iraq. Additional mission packs are being developed for foreign military training, humanitarian relief and civil affairs missions in Afghanistan and other countries.

  • arma2's become too commercialized. this kind of system would be too complex for the average consumer.

  • I wish this was available for Arma2. It would expand the realism a lot.

  • Fantastic system, thanks for the video, hopefully I'll see this in action some day. Cheers.
