when i broke 6 minutes i felt like i was going to die

he was running over 16 mph. the average runner goes 10-12mph. 4:48, probably the average mile time for the kind of people who watch this video, requires an average speed of around 12.5mph.

great commentary!

@RefugeeOfRap of course you did....if ur 7 you would be running faster than a 100meter runner for a whole mile

@RayLopezable Mileage, mileage, mileage. Most top milers work there way up somewhere above 60 miles per week, with some as high as 80 or 90. Obviously it's a gradual build-up over months, or years especially if your in HS. Good mileage goals for a HSer would be 30-40 as a freshman, 40-50 as a sophmore, 50-60 as a junior, and 60+ as a senior.
There is more to it than that, but that's probably the biggest piece of the puzzle, especially if your not already a serious runner.
I would be airlifted to the hospital after one lap.

A) To the people that think they can run faster than that man, you can't. It's a record that you cannot compete with. Get over yourselves.
B) I thought I was fast with 4:38 minutes. Maybe if I truly push myself, I could get close to his.
