This April, Andy Randall, Stephen Thompson, Tim McCosker & Chris Lunn are competing in Racing the Planet Australia 2010, a seven-day, six-stage 250 kilometer adventure race across the Kimberley region of Western Australia. In 2007, these same lads competed in the RacingThePlanet GobiMarch and, thanks to the great support of family and friends, the team was able to raise over US$60,000 for SCC. These funds were used to support SCCs programmes, including building schools, awarding scholarships to individual students, and providing vocational and English language training to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in southern Vietnam.

This year these four brave men will test their mettle in the Australian Outback, one of the worlds last true wilderness areas. They will join two hundred competitors from more than 30 countries in this grueling challenge where racers must carry all their own equipment and food, and are only provided with water and a place in a tent each day.

I think it is an extraordinary feat simply to take on a challenge like this but to undertake something like this and then to do it to raise money to help others is genuinely humbling, said Paul Finnis. We cannot thank them enough and would urge you all to support them in their new adventure.

To kick off their fundraising efforts, Andy, Stephen, Tim & Chris will hold a party at the Hong Kong Football Club on the 15th of April in Hong Kong. For those who are not able to attend the party, you can support the guys by donating through their Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/ RacingThePlanet.

The team will begin their race on Sunday, 25th April. To learn more about the race please visit http://www.4deserts.com/be yond/australia/rtpnmb.php? SID=5&SBID=R1. We wish them the best of luck as they start this next adventure!
