Amazing!

The most emotional singer of all time: Phil Lynott.

This may have been one of the 1st songs he demoed for Slam, it may not have been played much. This is a drum machine track. i like it. He was very much singing about himself in the Slam songs, esp in "Sisters of Mercy". Note lyrics changes in live sets: "from fame to oblivion".

Where can I get this album? Phil rocks!!!!!!

First off, this song is NOT about asshole men. It is a reference to his cheating wife.
"She cries, she's crazy now. She's never gonna hurt; she hurt him."
"He's dyin' now, and all the while does she hurt him"
Like a black cat in the doorway he stands...he's angry and he nows there's another man"

awesome..
"will you love me forever or take this pain"
"It is written in the sand that this was all this lonely boy had. That the workshop crumbled by destruction working overtime" A reference to the breakup of Thin Lizzy

While it's quite honorable that you have attempted to translate some of what is being said, I'm quite certain that a lot of that isn't right.
"It is written in the sand that _______ long before our time, that the weak shall crumble, while the strong shall work it over time."
Yeah, I still can't get some of the middle, and I don't even want to register a guess, but I don't hear "workshop" or "destruction" in that line. That said you're totally on the mark about the song's meaning.

This one is tougher, I know because I've attempted to write out the lyrics to this one too, and the tape quality makes it hard to hear what Lynott is saying at times. His enunciation was not great at times due to his accent, but the quality of the tape makes it even harder. I'll give it another go though.

Yeah, I remember why I gave up the first time. I can make out a lot of the first lines and last lines of the verses, but I honestly don't have a clue what Lynott says in the middle of some of these.
