OK i found this out a while ago all your doing is making them think your running a future version of mac or a historically old version like Mac OS 4 or something hope you enjoy subscribe for me.

  • Why would you want to do this? When you update, you will probably lose all your data and screw up your mac.

  • It wont screw up your date. Lets say in 10.5.6 They disabled DFU Mode. You could change it to 10.5.6 So It dosnt ask you to update.

  • I am still on Leopard 10.5.8. What would happen if 10.6.1 came out and I did the software update by making it think I have 10.6? Would it be a free upgrade to Snow Leopard or would it screw up my computer? Very interesting video; it brought a lot of ideas to my head.

  • When you update to 10.6.1 you would be screwed because it is updating files that exist or are written in a old language like 10.5 finder.

  • Sorry i forgot to tell the file. Its SystemVersion.plist Also textedit is in applications.

  • hey, i got lost. what is the exact file that you saved to your desktop. and i such a beginner with a mac i can figure out where to find the text edit fuction.
