Protein kinase A is an enzyme that phosphorelates a downstream target peptide. It has a conserved motif called glycine lead where the atp is held during catalysation. The sequence of the glycine lead is GXGXXGXV. The X residues despite being free to be any amino acid remains evolutionarily consistent, the codons coding those residues diversifies in accordance with evolutionary pattern.
