  • Question, for some reason my key when i reassemble it is lopsided, did i do something wrong. I took out another key to see if there was something wrong with the original key but it isn't that. The left hand side of the key is slanted making typing quickly difficult.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @TheSpencePo

    Could have two reason:

    1. one of these very small hooks below the key is broken so that the hinge has nothing to hold on that side of the key.

    2. the hinge isn't put together correctly

  • Hi, nice video.

Can you tell me if i am just changing a key for cosmetic reasons (as all my keys function well) do i need to remove the rubber cup? Or can i just leave it on and simply put the new key on top.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @jcEightySeven leave the rubber cup in place. It can't be removed anyway (unless you use some violence).

Just attach the new one on top.

  • @apfeltasten Ok thanks for the reply but i am confused. You say it can't be removed but isnt that what you are doing in the video (and doesnt look very violent to me lol)? or is that just in case someone would need to remove them. sorry if the question may be stupid :P

  • @jcEightySeven We are talking about the rubber cup, right? The key and the white plastic mechanism can be removed and assembled easily as shown in the video. But the rubber cup is fixed and technically irreplaceable.

  • this was a great help. my friends' son (toddler) ripped most the keys off. the only problem I had that you don't go over in the video is how to connect the hinges which was easy after about 2 minutes of not realizing the larger piece had facets for the smaller piece to connect to (noticed it when I read the first comment on the page). thank you so much for making the video exceedingly simple.

  • @saucebawsrs turn numlock off

  • im not sure wat is wrong with my keys, they press down fine but they will not properly function , like when i start it to type my password some keys dont work, wat should i do? :/

  • I just wanted to say thanks for the video it helped me out bigtime for replacing my Z. Now I can finally get some zzz's.

  • @apfeltasten Oh, i am reffering to the white plastic mechanism. You take it off during the video to replace the key, but do i need to remove this and replace or can i just leave that alone and simply swap my key for a new key? thanks for your help
