This is the Norwegian metal band Satyricon, performing a "live" version of the track "K.I.N.G" from the album "Now, diabolical".
This was part of an official concert held at Universitetsplassen, Oslo, in connection with the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, in Holmenkollen, Oslo, Norway, 24.2.2011.
The concert was broadcasted on NRK2 (national TV) in Norway.

  • This is fantastic! However, I'm afraid there is some sort of recorded back-track or in the worst case they might have been playing in play-back.

  • @PietroRumenta This performance has a backing track of the music, with live vocals of Satyr. That's why I wrote "live", in quotes, in the description of the clip.

  • In Italy if you play metal out of some contexts...in particular extreme metal (black death) you could be considered a criminal. In my opinion this is an example of civilization. HAIL NORWAY!

  • Satyricon and a fashion show? Although weird, fuck the haters. That's cool Norway embraces black metal so much.

  • @Devilwhistle Strychnine.

  • @PietroRumenta Remeber that tis gig was preformed in -15 degrees celsius.

  • this is not what black metal suposed to be...

  • anyone knows some drugs that could help me to forget this video?

  • This is surreal!

I like satyricon, but his live vocals are lacking somewhat. Just not as good as on record

  • Let's put it this way: you may not like Satyricon (let alone like what's going on in this vid) but in the end they may also see their band & making music not just as a hobby and/or something that makes them feel good, etc. but as work and means to make a living. So, what's the big deal? They're there making money while broke fanboys/girls criticize them for being 'sell outs' (*yawn*) etc, not kvlt anymore. It doesn't matter regardless of how much you hate & criticize it, they're still making $

  • @SetYourWatch Damn right. Also if you think that if more BM bands would perform like this, in good looking suits etc in "public", it would be only great and not embarrassing. It would be a testing for many if they're really into the music or just an excuse to use corpsepaint

  • @pilsking1976

Do you have any idea why they werent allowed to play live? And i assume corpse paint was banned aswell for some weird arse reason.

What the hell are they even doing in events like this? i mean i think its hilarious, but what were the organizers thinking?

  • diablos como quisiera vivir en noruega donde el metal es un religion

  • @misanthropos92 Im glad i live in Norway then :D And wth is with the dislikes?
