What is eva encapsulation

This is one of the materiale used to laminate solarcells.

Normally 2 sheets are used and as back plate They use TPE

I called to STR Photocap in Spain (Asturias), and they said me that only provide EVA to an enterprise.

Do you know any shop in europe (beter in spain), that sell EVA for a few meters?

Answer is: I did't find any dealer selling small quantities, but i asked dupond 3 years ago, they have at similar product called 'dupond tedlar', they have a dealer in switzerland.

I found my on ebay.co.uk and .com in US.

Solyndra went bankrupt, their panels are like tubes..dont know if they need UVA..by the way uva in spanish means grapes not sour grapes..anyway... Odersun of germany has panel technology. In the end a solar panel has to have the technology to combat rain, snow, dust, etc. Solyndra claims they have...Suntech makes waterproof. I think a new company will come up with a better techonoloy and you will be able to buy at RadioShak..

@pa2500 i think it is posible to link eva as you describe, think it will work well. when you get eva, the try to make some experiments first, you can use defect solarcells, before laminating a hole panel ;)

Also, you need some kind of backplane, wood plate can beused, aluminium also, but best to use TPE backsheet, available from ebay.com ;)

@myNerdStuff I need at least 10 meters. I found a shop in ebay that sold separated parts by pound (min 150cm, max 300cm).

I'm planning to do it with multiple parts in each panel, the main reason is that my panels are 160cmx130cm (it's a long story).

Do you think that is posible to use it linking various parts of eva. Could be effective too?

And another question... Is absolutely necesary the white material to the back part?

@pa2500 also i remember str had a online form that i filled out, and they were able to send some meter as samples, that was 3 years ago

@me2b1 i found it on ebay, there is a american dealer. Also i was lucky to get 15 meters from ebay in UK. The EVA is also made by STR in spain annd called STR photocap. I will writw some more about it, also i found a document descibing the Encapsulation process.

At this moment i am working on a HD EVA encapsulation movie guide as lot of youtube folks asked me to ;)
