Why the hell are Americans so competitive? You're acting like because there's a good athlete who happens to be american that you all are superior to everyone else who competes. I've got news for you, you're not. He's american, so what, that doesn't make you as individuals any less fat, lethargic and lazy then you ever were before. It's his title, not his countries and it's individuals. So sit down.

Ian Thorpe is my favorite male athlete of all time, and I'm an American:) I'm not a traitor, I love the american team and dream, but he's still my favorite.

I used to be a VDH fan over Thorpe. However, Thorpe reminds me of good times, and all the times I enjoyed swimming. He isn't really old, and I think he is wrong about not being physically able to perform great after this point. In a way, I would like to see this new generation and their trash talking gremlins(samuelflower) how great people get it done.
