Agreed :( i wish in the new thing they didnt fix things up as much as they did with cgi if you see the behind the scenes for just about every thing appearence in that movie all the creatures where not cgi but just so damn heavily corrected with cgi that it takes away from all the hard work they put into the creature design ;( I think cgi should be used for stuff thats generally hard to do and not used so lightly ;(

Btw, today's Special Effects makers are trained to do CGI effects. Its the computer software generation today. I don't think they are trained to make latex effects anymore are they? So how can they go back to 1982 methods?

    You're sooo macho...

The fear of this film stems from the claustrophobia and suspicion. Not knowing who is infected or not is what mounts the tension and overall tone and mood of the film. It's much more complex than "Boo, scary monster". It's an extremely well made film both technically and on the level of suspense and attention to story elements (it's been dissected by film theorists).

Watch more movies, digest them, and think about it before making absurd, pointless comments.

Its funny that you ask that ;P today is actually my 19th birthday. but as far as cgi and latex goes I think they both have their flaws, and although latex isn't perfect, it really does looks creepy as hell in my opinion, so does cgi if done right but seeing something like latex that is actually their I think has a little bit of an edge.

Just wondering, how old are you? Are you from the generation when this movie was first made 1980s? Or are you from today's generation. Usually the older crowd says the old latex days is better because they feel nostalgia. Personally I like CG, it sometimes looks cartoonish, but sometimes the latex looks totally fake too. Maybe neither is perfect.
