Sharp's Plant Paint :DigInfo

Sharp exhibited a new plant-based resin paint made from corn during the 2007 Eco Products exhibition for environmentally friendly alternative energy sources, and for the first time in the world, Sharp has commercialized technology developed in conjunction with Kansai Paint to coat plastic parts of consumer electronics with this plant-based resin paint. This new plant-based paint uses cornstarch as its main raw material and can dry twice as fast as previous plant-based paints. It is made from a combination of a base compound and a solvent rather than the base compound and hardening agent combination used by previous plant-based paints, and because of the volatilization of the solvent, the new paint hardens quickly and drying time can be shortened.
