If you haven't seen Sarah English sing along with this, check it out first! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vqur8FYAylU

This is the backing track for a slightly slower version of The Star of the County Down that I arranged and recorded for the collaboration video above.

  • I saw both videos (w/Sarah English singing/the instrumental only). Both sound great! I'm a "pennywhistler" as well, what kind were you using in this video?

  • @jonathanmmster Thank you! The whistle I'm using here is a Shaw high E. It does have quite a breathy sound, which is nice if you're going for that sound, but I'm not sure I could recommend this particular one, as I'm not convinced the tuning is very accurate on some of the notes.

  • Excellent arrangement Richard! Nice to see you back :)

  • You know, I think this is the first time I saw you uploaded the instrumental version. It's ever so complete and emotional even without any vocals. You are such a fantastic and talented instrumentalist and arranger! xxSarah

Cool! Thanks for the info. Have fun making more videos!

  • cc tres jolieeeeeeeeeeeee bon week end chris

  • Hey Richard? Have you ever heard of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia? If you haven't?...you need to visit there...believe it or not, to catch up on Scottish music. Names like Natalie MacMaster, Buddy MacMaster, Ashley Macisaac, Doug Macphee, Carl Mackenzie just to name some brilliant musicians. You would probably have a GREAT chance of starting a music career there. Look it up :-)

  • @wickirsinn Thank you!
