  • One of Burt Bacharach's finest tunes performed in a perfect manner. No one could ever sing it better, the range and emotion which she puts into it is simply astounding.

  • Boy, I am a big, big, big Dione Warwick fan and she is just the best but considering I never heard of this gal or this version objectively I dig it.

  • With all due respect to Cilla, yeah she has range but Cher has pathos & Sonny's production is excellent. Mind you a good song is a good song and there are many fab versions of Alfie.

  • Cilla you just the best!

  • Cilla's version gives me goosebumps. Incredible!!!!

  • Bloody hell-not only a great film, it had cilla black, burt, sonny rollins, and michael cain! Does it get any better than that? I don't think so!

  • Bacharach being a perfectionist-really made her work hard for this song-she did the best alfie-from the movie alfie--and ask oneself--whats its all about-the song is very deep.

  • Great to find this-some happy memories for a friend of mine

  • I miss the big shot of cilla and bert, in the studio, please bring it back

  • Unsurpassed!

A fresh young singer (at the time) who, without the modern digital wizardry, she manages a haunting recording which has stayed with me over the years.

  • yeah its a shame that cilla was never that well known outside of the UK, but she was really popular over here
