Documentary series chronicling life for the British servicemen and women stationed at Kandahar air base in southern Afghanistan.

A squadron of new recruits arrives in Afghanistan to take over the essential job of guarding the base. Elsewhere, a Harrier jet pilot embarks on a high-speed reconnaissance mission; locals pour into the base to set up the weekly market; and the tough guys compete for the title of Kandahar's strongest man. Actor Dexter Fletcher narrates the action.

@chickendippers1997 i have nothing against the soldiers cos its their duty to do what their generals and politicians tell them whether its right or wrong but what u need 2 know is that taliban r not terrorists, afghanistan is their country n they were governing it until allied forces came and invaded it. in this situation just like its the duty of british soldiers 2 defend britian if it comes under attack and not 2 surrender, its da duty of the taliban 2 defend der country and not 2 surrender

well said, my husband is in this sqn n was on this tour... these men n woman that go out there way dont gt rewarded or thought of highly enough, they put there life on the line, leave there families behind for months on end... yes they choose this life but please remember they also choose to protect u!!! these men should be an inspiration, doesnt mean cos u dont fight for ur country we think bad of u. just want ppl to sit bk n realise that they r gd ppl and not be slaunded xx a proud wifey xx

@blunty90 there is a threat in every job mate, some more than others. I would say go down to your local armed forces career office and discuss and possible career in the forces :)
