@gkirby62 Re: Not working with Pro Tools. Which version of Pro Tools were you using? I ask because Pro Tools 9 is supposed to work with any interface.

Do you know if this mic works with Ableton Live?

I have windows 7 and I want to record videos using the samsom G track but every time I try it my speakers stop working and even though the microphone is on, the video comes out mute...how do I fix this?

does this work good for drums?

What's the name of the song in the intro?

@gkirby62 i am picking up a static background noise, that you can hear a little in your video. No matter what volume the mic is on. Please answer
So I would greatly appreciate this if it was answered. I just got my Samson G track and I was wondering if this problem can be solved with the whole left channel sound thing. I recorded on photo booth but soon realized I had this problem too, i was going to try Imovie, but it seems that this is also the problem, is there anyway this can be solved??

Not much room to answer this here, briefly, a mic is a mono source, meaning one channel, stereo is 2 channels, left and right, in order to hear the mic from both channels the software has to be setup for a mono source to record the sound to both channels. I am not sure about photo booth but Imovie does not have this capability; Garageband does. In a nutshell, its a software issue. The software that you are using to record has to be told to record to both channels. Out of space.

do you need a shock mount??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yes and no. It will help to eliminate and noise created by vibration around the mic. The mic stand that comes with it works fine for most purposes however. But, to get the mic close to your face and make it more convenient its best to use some sort of extendable arm/mic mount and a shock mount.

can the g track works with pro tools?
chrijose2 2 months ago
No, it will not. Pro Tools will only work with certain Pro Tools approved mics and amps. I have used Pro Tools with a mic port pro and an inexpensive mic and it worked great.
