The Legend of the Lone Ranger is a 1981 American film of the story of The Lone Ranger, a Western character created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker. Its producers outraged fans by not allowing actor Clayton Moore to wear the character's mask when making public appearances, and created a further bad buzz when the dialogue of leading man Klinton Spilsbury was dubbed by another actor. The film was a huge box-office failure.

This one is a treasure. The story was the original with almost no changes, the acting was good, photography excellent, a great score from the great John Barry, and the first moment we get to see the Lone Ranger is still awesome! However critics killed it--maybe they wanted the Lone Ranger to appear in the very first scene of the movie---grrrr!

Great scene and this movie was underrated. Im not sure what the critics didn't like about it but then again who give a damn what critics think. I see a movie and decide for myself.

@REGINALD0205 yea i thought it was to be honest a good movie i heard the guy who played the lone ranger was hard to work with and they had to to a voice over with james keach to say his lines i never knew that until i looked it up online and the guy who played tonto i thought was really good and so was chris loyd as cavinash i think that was his name .and this is the hardest movie to find in the stores but we need to remember it was the early 80's to lol ! oh how i miss the 80s haveagreat night

@myfriendangel1 I didn't think it was THAT BAD when I saw it, but I was 12. It came out same year as RAIDERS OF LOST ARK I always thought that a sequel would had more action in it

i saw this with my dad when i was 8 in the theater this move had gotten a bad rap but it wasnt that bad i have seen worse
