Untrue. In order to match the specs of an $1899ASUS G-series laptop, a 17" Macbook Pro would cost $3049. My mid-range rendering station cost me $1500 to build. If I were to duplicate it on iMac, it would run $4000, and that's without my SSD drive.

The build quality myth is just that. A myth. If Apple sells 10,000 Macs in a month, and PCs sell 1,000,000 units, who do you think is going to have a higher list of reported failures? Google "Magsafe defects."

@MichaelEssaf Your argument is invalid. Macs are the same price as a PC of higher specs, so compared to each other on THE SAME PRICE, PC is superior (at least in terms of performance). I am not saying macs are bad, but as a whole PCs have a lot more value for money.

Now, show me a Mac with a base configuration that doesn't consist of cheap Hynix RAM in meager 4GB configs, or one that doesn't use inferior mobile-based video cards. And don't mention the Mac Pro, the most overpriced of all Apple's machines, whose 12-Core config has been beaten in every direction by SR-2 Classified 12-Core PCs. While you're at it, show me a Mac that doesn't require Bootcamp for full software compatibility, or where OpenCL has defeated CUDA. I await.

What good is an aluminum unibody in the long run? Does that justify $1000 extra dollars? Multi-touch trackpads are absolutely useless compared to mice, which anybody and everybody uses for extended periods. Free text editor??? Ever hear of OpenOffice? Free audio creator? Ever hear of Audacity?
