A basic review of the offside rule in soccer. This is a good lesson for spectators or new players that are confused by the rule.

This guy is trying to explain what an offside is and he's done a really good job of it. And here everyone is arguing and insulting each other about what to call this sport. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down and just accept that the sport has 2 names. In American English it's 'Soccer', in British English it's 'Football'. Why argue?

This is a really great video. Thanks for explaining the offside so simply, it actually makes sense now :)

The narrator's spoken pace was perfect, for me. I'm a soccer newbie, so some of the calls of off-side are still hard to see; but this explains it pretty well.

It still seems to me that I see an attacker between the goalie and defender(s) very often and off-side is not called. I need to watch more soccer. Great game.

They should really make a line like Hockey. It would create more goals, not be as dreadful.

You do know that there are more ways to say it. English isn't the only language in the world.

Can someone explain why the defense just doesn't stay back so the other team gets an offside call? Serious question.

ahahahahaha!no, no foult, but the refree can stop the game to assist the injured player, but often the players decide to put out the ball in order to verify the condition of the injured player. the second case is a sort of gentleman agreement....

offside rule exists only when the game in played 11vs11, and in this case there is a refree+2 assistantthat have the task of ceck the alignment. when u play with friend usually is a 5vs5 or maxinum 7vs7, and in this case offside is not considered, and there are some other differences.

straying away from the subject of this video. what happen if a player kicks the ball so hard to a point where the ball is travelling like a cannon ball and hit the keeper and injuring him. would that be a foul?

but who is measuring the alignment of the players during the game? sounds ridiculous. i mean in a competitive world cup games or something, maybe they can hire someone to do it. but if you just want to play with your friends this rule probably wont apply and can be an exploit lol

yep!that's a tactic really used and usefull for the defender team, but the defenders have to be really good at it! if they fail this tactic, well.....ther's a higway to goal!
