The descent from the top of Cottage Grove-Lorane Hwy heading west down into Lorane, Oregon. After a couple mile climb to the top of CG-Lorane Hwy from Cottage Grove, you have a bit of a flat area on top and then a nice dowhnill. The road is in great condition, low traffic, and the curves are wide and generous. Experienced riders should be able to drop all the way from top to bottom without having to tap the brakes. Speeds in excess of 40mph possible. This is a great descent for beginning riders to learn the art of cornering at speed.

  • I like the video and some how I am interested on how to learn on how to control me speed how to keep up how not to be the last man hanging how can I start off with being fast please help me with some tips. Thank you

  • @jnnngstyn The best way to learn how to be a fast descender is to find someone who is good and then force yourself to follow their line. If you don't have anyone that you can follow, the trick that all good descenders know is to look as far PAST or THROUGH the turn as you can. If you're looking through the turn your body will set up the turn correctly. If you're concentrating on the road right in front of you, you will likely end up on the wrong line and get too high in the apex of the turn.

  • Topped out around 41-42 mph yesterday on there. There was a bit of a headwind coming up from the Lorane valley. That's the middle setting on the resolution, however, it shoots in 60 frames per second at that setting so fast subjects come out butter smooth and if I slow it down to 30fps it makes for beautiful slow-motion...which should come in really handy for hunting...;-)

  • What's the mph on that descent? That go pro has a good resolution.
