We start a new series going over famous/common traps that you may come across in your chess career. You don't see these everyday but traps in general are entertaining and I think it's good to know as many as possible just in case. In this video we cover the Kieninger Trap which derives from the Budapest Gambit from Black.

  • why not Qd4 instead of bishop or knight instead of bishop?

  • This move is not even a ?? it's a ????. That's how bad it is.

  • i love traps

    there was this one time some guy keep going in my lawn at night

    so i set a trap for him

    he never saw it coming

    he suffered GREATLY for it and i never saw him again....

    dun dun DUN

    after i defeated him in chess of course >_>

  • :O <-- my face after seeing this trap

  • If white responds knight c3 to block the check by black's bishop, black's next move after checking the king is moving the knight on d3 to f4, capturing white's bishop and equalizing material. The key thing here is that white can't castle, so the trap still works.

  • @evoaintrue lol the pawn cant move because the white king will still be in check with the black queen

  • wait how is it check mate.... cant e2 take out the horse

  • i bet kevin would take jrobi to school

  • No more: 'da!' :)

  • 1. d4, Nf6;

    2. c4, e5;

    3. e4xe5, Ng4

    4. Instead of white playing Bf4, white plays f4 with pawn. I think this is one sure way to stop this trap.

    Please correct me if this is incorrect.
