Wasting time transferring your handwritten notes to a digital database? Hitachi Maxell's digital pen Penit can save you time by allowing you transfer handwritten notes to your computer.
Penit needs special paper which has dots printed on it. These dots are used to record coordinates while writing so the user can stop and start writing without confusing the system.
In the tip of Penit is a CMOS Camera which feeds dot coordinates to an image processor thus recording absolute coordinates while writing.
Penit also has a lithium ion battery and a 1 MB memory built-in which can store data from about 40 sheets of A5 paper. The battery and storage capacity make this digital pen usable anywhere and with Penit's Bluetooth capability data can be sent through mobile devices such as cellphones and PDA's to any location world wide.
As for security, each pen has a built in clock and serial number thus personalizing and dating each entry to prevent tampering or counterfeiting.
