This is my son's second recital. He's been learning cello since June in 2006 and this song is pretty challenge for him. He had a problem with his cello stand towards the end but he managed to get through the song...
that really good sence he had to remember it all and how old is he any way and that is super cool i want to learn how to play the violin or the cello i dont know which one to choose ^_^lol
Thank you for listening to my son's cello. Thank you for your nice comment, too. He is 10 years old. He watched and listened to another player playing this magic flute song on you tube hundred times and finally he memorised it.
He's got a great sound for so young and new to the cello. Encourage him to watch other cellist on youtube (Rostropovich, Kosower, Yo Yo Ma, Isserlis), it is great way to keep his inspiration going and learn good technique/interpretation - wish it was around when I was younger!
He's going to be very good! Be sure he's got a first rate teacher and even so if his progress isn't as fast as you think it could be don't be afraid to switch teachers (most great cellists do).

He is learning only 2 and half years? Then I can say that he is really good :) But I think this piece was a little too hard as for boy his age.
