*Done on separate occasions and pieced into one single video for comparative analysis (of Elecman's design and patterns of maneuver).

It must be noted that while in both versions 3 Elec blasts from him is enough to wipe you out and in the 16-bit Sega version of Megaman / Rockman the Robot Master may move slower (the whole game is a snail experience anyway on the actual console too), but in terms of overall unreasonableness and unpredictability in his patterns of maneuver (he can now hardly be stopped in his tracks after being hit and he spams Elec Blasts like there is no tomorrow) - Capcom actually raised the bar and surprisingly "assified" him on the Sega version.

Simply put, you can throw the common one-bullet-hit throwback repeat strategy and most other strategies you pitted against him on the NES / Famicom version out of the window as they don't work on him anymore on the Sega version because he does what he randomly likes almost all the time (beyond almost all forms of understanding and manipulating him to the player's advantage).

On top of the new strategies required, you will need incredible doses of instinct and may I humbly put, luck as well.

  • ...........wow...........

  • You've made Elec Man look like a piece of cake, practice always pays off as you've nailed a no damage strategy for yourself for it seems all the Mega Man games.

  • no not that pause trick ah fuck it you'll find out soon enough

  • Because there are no tricks including the Pause one to deal with the maniac in Sega haha, and I've more or less shown the latter also.

  • Wily Wars ElecMan is a bastard but there's a trick to kill NES ElecMan easily

  • I do the same with the Gradius/Salamander/Parodius series I've gotten close to finishing Gradius 1 and 2 on a single credit, but I must practice more in order to accomplish my goal of a 1 credit clear. It took me a number of years to fall in love with the Mega Man original series, it just clicked for me one day and I found myself playing the little blue bombers games more. No one I knew owned a Mega Man game save for one friend of mine who had the original, and he'd never let me play the thing.

  • Fuck! That's all you had to do to him on the NES version? Damn, I am so trying that out whenever I play it on Megaman Anniversary Collection for my XBOX, lol. Great video, sure gave me a great tip.
