This is one of my favorite jobs because it is a part of history and all the attention it receives at the Reagan Library plus my Dad was available to join us on this project which made it enjoyable. The re-assembly took 4 months, it started in the August hot sun, dirt, swarming (killer) bees and then having to wear hard hats in the construction zone as the building was built around the Boeing 707 Air Force One. I fully restored aircraft electrical power to all systems just like it landed before disassembly at San Bernadino Airport, there is no hydraulic power available.. Thanks for the Boeing Company for donating tooling and manpower for the assembly and The Reagan Library for taking care of us mechanics. Please enjoy the pictures I've taken during the re-assembly and completed museum display.

  • I served on this VERY GRAND LADY from 1974 to 1975 until the day when I ended up getting injured and had to retire medically from the USAF. Flew with Nixon on the dreaded day he left Washington DC to go home back to San Clemente for the last time and Ford an honor and pleasure in serving him on this fine aircraft.
