On the Durango & Silverton Railroad, a 3 note whistle breaks the silence of the Rocky Mountains at Cascade Canyon as the engineer calls passengers back to the train for the return trip to Durango. December, 2006

  • The engineers there are great! Me and a few other visitors were talking to the engineers and I swear he held the whistle down for at least 20 seconds.

  • @horncrazzy09 It's a Lunkenheimer 3 chime, or Lunk 3 chime for short. It's a very sweet whistle, one of my favorite whistles at that.
