One of my adult female African mantids (Sphodromantis sp.) eats a locust.

  • hierodula looks so much like sphodromantis . how are they differientated ? anyone can help? i have 8 wild caught giant asian mantis juvenile( i am from singapore)

  • When we lived in OC CA we had a Praying Mantis that use to hang just outside our door, on the wall. I got to where I could pet it and it would just sit there and when I would come home, the PM was there and would pet it. It sure like eating all those stupid bugs that would come by.

    It got to a point where it would rotate its head when I was there and turn its head when I would pet it. We called ours NORMAN.
