War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from LBJ to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war line of one administration after another.
War Made Easy gives special attention to parallels between the Vietnam war and the war in Iraq. Driven by media critic Norman Solomon's meticulous research and tough-minded analysis, it sets stunning examples of propaganda and media complicity from the present within the context of rare footage from political leaders and leading journalists of the Vietnam era, including Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara, dissident Senator Wayne Morse, and news correspondents Walter Cronkite and Morley Safer.
Norman Solomon's work has been praised by the Los Angeles Times as "brutally persuasive" and essential "for those who would like greater context with their bitter morning coffee." This film now offers a chance to see that context on the screen.

the only two senators to vote against the Gulf of Tolkein Resolution to get us into Vietnam was Ernest Gruening and Wayne Morse. All of the other senators followed Johnson blindly, and then loudly complained about Vietnam. Does it sound familiar?

This is truly one of the great moments in American history. They should be filming this clip on all those cable news programs so that the American people can see that there truly have existed lone voices crying out for their rights and exposing the fraud that is the imperial presidency.

Wow, Wayne Morse is a politician who truly believes in democracy. I wish it would have become common practice for politicians of today, to defend this position. But it's not unusual that they declare the people as dumb and democratic outcomes as a glitch.

And hook a generator up to his spinning corpse. Him and the founding fathers. That'd solve our energy problems.

Fabulous portrayal of what made this country great and why we WERE respected. Where are these types now? And why aren't they in leadership positions?

--The Gulf of Tonkin, now undeniably a Total Lie, a "False Flag" operation, which seems to be what each new generation is manipulated and tricked with. KNOW HISTORY, it does repeat itself...
The Reichstag fire of Adolph Hitler to Vietnam to today...History is undeniable and anyone can research in 2 minutes these days.

I was at the protest in 2003 in NYC where there were more than 100,000 of us protesting. Worldwide that day were millions protesting. I didn't see any tangible effect from that protest. It made me feel like it was a waste of time. I don't think the majority of Americans will protest for change until they, personally, are effected. I just think things have to get really bad for the majority of us to get off our butts. We just don't want to be or can't be bothered.

If the president is acting in an unconstitutional manner we should not only go against him.... but REMOVE HIM.... by any means.
