WalMart is winning, Now they can charge what they want and really start making money. Lower the prices and get them in and destroy the rest. Communist WalMart and we are making them number one and the only one with no turning back.

A local supermarket chain took over a supermarket in our county but the supermarket that was taken over moved into and remodeled an old Bell/Cala grocery space that was vacant for 6 years.

@HoodwinkedbyanAngel I agree with you 100% that the welfare system is destroying this country and nobody is talking about it. It is a political hot potatoe. The government spends more on the "food stamp" program than it does on the military budget. But, where I disagree with you is about these immigrants. I am in the retail food business and I will tell you that everybody is in on raping this country. Whites, Blacks, HIspanics people of all shades drive up in a Mercedes and use a FS card.

@PamelaRP Your story is a rather sad one. You are right, it is not your fault. But it is also not he fault of the companies not hiring you, they aren't making enough money to hire people either. Nor is it the fault of the stores that close down, it isn't like they closed down because they felt like it. They weren't making money, a business that loses money cannot stay open very long. There is a lot of blame to go around but it certainly does not fall on the shoulders of business people.

@TheKerryzzz Stores run sale specials, sometimes at a loss to bring customers into the store. Those customers who come in for the sales end up buying products the store actually makes money on. Lately shoppers are only buying what is on sale and leaving. This puts retail stores into an extremely difficult situation. If you can't profit off product, you can't pay your workers, pay the electric bill and so forth. Then they close down.

this is so depressing to see, many wonderful familys out of work as you can see, what a tragedy.Our poor economy is getting worse, what's happening, the unemployment line is getting bigger and going on reverse. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy it feels like a curse. Circuit City, Block Buster and now Ralphs so sad to see. Everyone needs to work , pray for our nation everybody..
