Girls just don't get that when you learn by formal education that it is only a baseline and that to expand your knowledge you have to adapt and improvise per the situation. things don't always go by the book girly....
funny how many people that only work on NEW cars THINK that they can work on old cars in the same manner and at the same speed . Not the case old iron needs to be talked to in order for it to let you do your thing. It deserves respect . in its own way it has earned it.

Ok I have decided NOT to sell the car, but thanks for all the phone calls. She is going into the paint booth next week. She'll still be satin black but now she will have Candy Blue flake flames and lake pipes, Air ride and hidden switches for the doors.

Very cool! I have a '56 DeSoto Firedome Seville 4 door hardtop. It was my dad's car and he got it about 85% restored and then gave up on it when he couldn't get the rebuilt 330 Hemi to run right. So he gave it to me. I've been working on it in my spare time and hopefully in about a month will have it painted. I'm waiting for a couple parts to see if I can get the engine running right. If not, I'll look for a new motor.

If you can belive it, I once owned a 59 DeSoto. It was huge, I mean really, really big. The bumpers alone weighed more than a Prius. It actually had swivel bucket seats. the tail fins were a sight to behold - only the 59 caddy could even come close. So what was the mileage, you ask? Who gave a shit, gas was only 24 cents (Chevron white pump-101 octane). No, young ones, I do not lie, this was on the San Francisco Peninsula in 1965.
