@theminpoes No it's actually the opposite. They also have a little less sustain because of the thinner body (less wood for the sound to travel through). The Les Paul has a sharper crunch (look up Jimmy Page and Gary Moore), the SG has the muddier tone (Wolfmother, even Black Sabbath, which uses a bridge pickup in most of the songs).

@7Switchfoot7 I don't think the SG has a muddier tone. I've always thought the Les Paul was muddier than the SG....

@ELSKYO I would say a Les Paul, because they are much better for alternative, foo fighters, and even punk. The only thing the SG is better for is grunge, because of its muddier tone.

I was thinking about a new guitar and allready i got stuck with a problem should i get a les paul standard or should i get this one. I play punkrock, alternative, grunge, like foo fighters which should i take?
