I'm holding a simple "pocket" on the keys (using "INFINITE CHORDS" throughout the pocket - i demonstrate 18 different chords in 4:19-4:26), allowing the bass to phrase and zone in and out (i recommend you bass players buy IVAN'S "URBAN BASS TECHNIQUES" DVD - gospelbass.com and watch Chapter 4!!!).
In this clip, "J. Troy" does a great job at holding the foundation, but has the ability to throw licks in with a shed-like groove...
The drums were on "Ice"... he can really play, the set just kept running from him...LOL :o)

  • is that the mo6?

  • it's neither the mo6, es or xs model... it's the CLASSIC motif 7 (76 keys)... I don't recommend the ES (the piano sucks in the upper register), and if you're considering the XS (i recommend buying a macbook pro w/ logic software)...You can play live with waaaaay better sounds than any keyboard that comes out or will ever come out. It is a "rat race" trying to keep up with the newest keyboards...

  • ...oh yeah, i'm looking for a motif classic module - if anyone has one!!! you just can't beat the classic POWERGRAND patch!!! ;o)

  • wish the bass player took a couple of measure to go into the pocket.

  • yeah, we were all "in the pocket" during the main part of the service... we actually read music charts during praise and worship, so we just played "AND1 Street Ball Style" during this after service jam... i wish i recorded the footage from the service; this video doesn't do him justice...just basically having fun, that's all... ;o)
