Crysis DX10 Features On Windows XP

Thanks to LennyRhys over at CrysisOnline we can now run the Crysis SP Demo at DX10 using Windows XP.

This video just shows some of Crysis's DX10 Features.

PC Spec:
Intel Quad Core Q6600
nVidia 8800GTS 320mb
2GB RAM

While Recording my FPS was 25, its noramlly 30-45 but as i was recording with Fraps and running DX10 it dropped a bit.

I will have a Core2Duo E8400 2GB DDR800 and a Leadtek 7950GT 512MB. Will the game run decent on that machine or poor?

Would be great if you had a better GPU, but you will be able to run it at mid settings or so.

I'm running an X2 4200+, 2GB DDR and a 7600GS, and I can play a mix of ultra high, med and low settings at decent framerates...

I'm hoping the 8800gs i just ordered will play mostly ultra and high settings the same way..

Why did you get a GS? Why not a GTS or GT? They are much better.

I tried a few of em... Doesn't work. All it does is force dxdiag to show "10.0" as the directx version, doesn't make Windows XP any more able to use it.

Don't waste your time... Yet.

I'm sure someone will find a way to hack it someday.

you can't actually have DX10 on Windows XP but you can force Crysis settings to render DX10 effects. Just look it up on Google,Crysis very high windows XP. Better still, look up, Crysis CCC 2.21 and download and install it. It will optimize Crysis for maximum visuals/performance.

once you get much over 30 fps, then you are just repeating the same frames over and over again, thus wasting time.

forget what the frames-whores say about "oohhh, you need 50-80 for it to look good", thats bull.

id software even max out their games at 30 fps, and they run fine, and look and play perfectly.

if youre getting a little over 30, then youre doing very well.

just a shame this game is not all its cracked up ot be once you meet the crappy aliens.
