A giant tuna landed by actor Hiroki Matsukata in Yamaguchi Prefecture has been sold for about 4.37 million yen at Tokyo's Tsukiji Market.
Matsukata caught the 325 kilogram tuna last Sunday during a bluefin tuna fishing tournament off the coast of Mishima Island in Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The giant tuna was priced at 15,500 yen per kilogram at Tsukiji Market.

  • Last Bluefin in japan .prob pulled up in the Southern Ocean and kept in a storage tank till they hooked it back up on the line for the cameras , It's sad a great fish loving nation has no idea about conservation of their own marine environment ...... they just fish species til they have to go into other Nations territorial waters because their own is a wet water desert .... no honour in that

  • @NightStalker1995

when did ever Japanese boats fish in Australian water?

and btw we don't need respect from ex-con.

  • The last giant tuna of the world...:\

  • The Japanese are probably uneducated about the size system.. If its 2 small through it back i bet they eat fish smaller then my finger witch is not good at ALL its called eliminating the eggs basically and they keep the bigger fish of course.. HEY I'M not saying that i never fished and never caught a big fish but I don't do it every day. POVERTY does this makes this occur also. It obligates them to fish for food so i believe its perfectly normal for them but not for the environment..

  • i bet the jap person/company who bought this have frozen the fish. One day when blue fin tunas are extinct they will sell this for 100x the price at least. Sad...

  • Epic Fish.. damn it.

  • mother fucker how dare you kill such a beautiful fish... stupid capitalism ruining out our world

  • Will someone tell the Japanese they are destroying this fish. Soon there will be none left. None.

  • Damn japs are takin all my blues...
