  • From early 1980.

  • "We return to 'Elvis' starring Kurt Russell in the title role."

I love the slightly formal conversational style, reminds me of a BBC continuity announcer. Is that Ernie Anderson speaking, btw? And I don't remember ever hearing that particular musical cue...great find!

  • @moogyboy6 The voice you hear is that of staff announce Joel Crager who is the voice of ABC movies until 1984 when those duties were turned over to Ernie Anderson. Crager was the voice over for the movie package since the late 1960s and had a successful career for about 20 years.

  • "We return now to 'Ernest: Scared Stupid,' starring, uh, Ernest in the title role."

  • 1979 feb

  • I would have nightmares from watching ABC's movie bumper because it reminded me when the network would show the creepy crawly tarantula bite flick "Kingdom of the Spiders" annually into the 1980's!

  • @Dimension150 Here's one I'd LOVE to hear:

"We return to 'Ali' starring Will Smith in the title role."

  • We return to "Live And Let Die" -- Starring Roger Moore in the title role. Brilliant Sound Quality!! A Brilliant 6!!

  • @Dimension150 Or better yet, "We return to 'Ramona and Beezus' starring Joey King as Ramona."

  • what a flashback, different world and better tv.

  • @Eddie62070 And if memory serves me, Kurt did a pretty damned good job in that film. He had all the mannerisms down.

  • @moogyboy6 Can you just hear something like, "We return to 'Iron Man' starring Robert Downey Jr. in the title roll" ?

We should. Along with the same bumper! Maybe more people would watch network television again?.
