@jadeng852 By putting the bell on your leg you prevent the bell from vibrating properly. By doing that you are killing certain frequencies that give the sound warmth and brilliance.
-
@manolly Why? I play the French Horn and it is great to have it on the knee.
-
@swansovec Never heard that before... why in the world would put it at the bottom? You put it on the side and support using the thumb and side of index.
-
@swansovec Thank you for you compliment...
Maybe where you come from you are right... here in germany there is NOT ONE professor who yould agree with you. Should they all be wrong?!? I don't think so. So stop being so arrogant!
-
@manolly The Weight Of The Horn Must Not Be On The Hand.. Because The Fact That You Cup Your Hand @ The Bottom Of The Bell Not At The Top Of The Bell.. So No Need To Use Your Exclamations So Freely Because You Are Wrong.. Maybe You Should Go Back To The Begginer Level And Learn The Proper Techniques.

I Have To Admit That Was Pretty Good.. But I Agree Somewhat With The Other People That Commented.. It Was Unclear Towards The Beggining. But Not Really Bad.. Other Than That Congrats.. I Sometimes Go To Empty My Spit And Cant Get The Slide Back In Fast Enough... HaHa Its Terrible.. :D

@beatlesfanatic221 If You Cant Tell The Difference From A or Bb Then You Shouldnt Be Playing... At All

its not a good sound.. the jumping of notes is unclear..
No... the weight of the horn must be on the hand holding the bell!!! Not on the leg...
Standing up would be another good idea...
