  • I don't understand the great defensive move that is Rc8.. This pin of the queen is useless with Nd6+ destroying black shortly after

  • after 17 ..Rc8 if white continues 18 cb6 cb6 19 Nd6+ is met by 19 ...Kb8 winning for black.

What now? If you capture on c8 the Rh8 pins the white queen. 17 ..Rc8 is the only move to keep black in the game I think.

  • Hi there! Is the reason why white plays a3 instead of Rxg7 to keep the initiative or just for the sake of playing a gambit? I guess positionally a rook on the seventh rank with later castling and maybe doubling rook isnt that bad is it?

cheers and keep up the good work!

  • Yes, but after Bg6 you would begin to regret letting your rook get trapped ...

  • Excellent game...commentary was clear and easy to follow. The gambit is very interesting,(what is it called?) i will be studying it.

  • Well, here's the beauty, this Gambit as far as I know does not have a readily accepted name. If you wish to study it, then the best place to start is chessbase and look at the grandmaster games in there. The good news is that as it is so poorly dealt with in the books, you will have a big advantage over your opponent! Good luck!

  • Amazing game and great analyzing and advice hope to see more videos of you.

  • Rybka believes c6+ to be the only move providing white a small edge, Qa4 is a blunder, effectively losing white the game. Qe2 is a better alternative as ..Qxe4 is met by Qxh5

  • great work :) excellent viewing :)

  • fat and mad are you cypriot or greek? by the way i have played like this a gambit in one of my games and it was actually a success... nice video..keep it up..
