The consecrated, or blessed oil called "chrism" was so important to early Christians, that they are named for it, as was their savior Jesus Christ. (the christened)

St. Cyril:
"Having been counted worthy of this Holy Chrism, ye are called Christians, verifying the name also by your new birth."

According to Torah, cannabis was one ingredient in Holy anointing oil. Kaneh-bosem (קְנֵה-בֹשֶׂם [36]) in the Old Testament (Exodus 30:22-33).
The document 'Ki Tissa' lists kaneh-bosem as a commodity, an incense, and an ingredient in Holy anointing oil used by the high priest on kings and prophets, priests and other ministers of the temple.

in The Acts of Peter and the Twelve Apostles, older than the New Testament, Jesus gives the disciples an "unguent box" and a "pouch full of medicine" with instructions for them to go into the city and heal the sick.

The singular 'Christ' became "Christians," that is, those who had been smeared or anointed with the holy oil. "The anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you." (1 John 2:27)
