We love you still Karen. I still love your music and you. You would have been 60 years young this year. I would pay to go to your concert today even so. We miss you.

EDzMyHomie, thank you for posting these videos. Tears flowed throughout re-watching this.

  • Can't hold back tears..at so many points during this movie..especially the tragic end :(

  • This film was depressing to watch from the start. I confess, I was dreading seeing the end, and I was a bit relieved that they didn't do it though it didn't exactly finish the story. Recently, I've learned that when our bodies do not have anymore carbrohydrates or fats to burn, it starts eating its own muscle mass. It's hard to think about, very hard, and dreadful to even mention, but it's a message to anyone who has anorexia to get help. I truly hope that Karen's life was happier than that.

  • I will never be able to watch this film and NOT cry no matter how many flaws there are in the story line. Karen Carpenter has been my idol practically since the day I was born. Her talent will never be matched and certainly not surpassed. She truly is a Star in Heaven <3

  • @mredominik I agree with you on this. I think the Family Dynamic was the foundation for Karen's problems. The lack of control in her life, etc. A number of things lead her toward her untimely fate. However, and this is just my opinion, the rejection of her solo record from both Richard and A&M records was the beginning of the end. That pushed her into that relationship with Burris which was doomed from the start as his intentions were never right. When that failed, it was over for her.

  • @JenWithThePen There is a lot of things not shown in this movie. The script for this movie was rewritten a number of times, as Richard Carpenter was a producer on this film. From what I've read Richard has denied the ipecac abuse as he feels Karen wouldn't have done that as it could have affected her voice. It's obvious if she was abusing it, and her autopsy says she was, she wasn't thinking clearly at all.

  • This was definitely a "Hollywood" ending. This is a movie, and a lot of this movie was dramatized for a variety of reasons. What is most sad to me, is this final scene (as were many scenes) was filmed in The Carpenters home in Downey, CA. Karen actually walked up those exact stairs on the last night night of her life. The house also looked exactly like it did when this was filmed as the morning she died. It was such a loss, when she died. She had so much talent and a lot more left to give.

  • I think about how tough her life was and how her family loved her, and I cried....

  • Thank you Mom for telling me you loved me a million times and all the hugs and kisses you gave.

  • Her reaction to that ' I love you ' is so magic, makes me cry every time. We all love you Karen, forever and ever!

  • she was such a beautiful person and had the voice of an angel...now she is singing in heaven. We miss you - your voice "perfection"
