oh i see it was already mentioned about nuts not being truly raw in stores! But yes there are several great places online to get truly raw nuts that will sprout and taste wonderful!

@Pianocarneseur12 actually truly raw nuts and seeds are hard to find...so at the grocery store "raw" nits aren't really 100% raw, I believe by law since 2007 or so they required a lower heat pasteurization. However if you do get truly raw nuts from a trusted source, yes soak them. I do for 24hrs and rinse them several times during that time. They sprout a little forming a little nob at the end, & u then know it's full of extra nutrients as the nut loads up to grow...but u then eat it then:).

@AnitasHealthBlog So if I get my almonds from the store say ummm blue diamond brand i need to wash them than soak them overnight or 8 hours? Thanks alot i've just become a semi vegetarian.

@ubuntumusic this is for truly raw nuts. The nuts in the store that say raw aren't truly raw. But if you get them raw from a farmer you need to soak them so they're not toxic to your body. You aren't rinsing out the nutrients...quite the opposite...the nutrients remain in the meat of the nuts:)

@itaigoldman there is no corn in agave nectar...agave is a spikey plants that resemble cactus, and the agave nectar comes out of it. High fructose corn syrup is comprises any of a group of corn syrups that has undergone enzymatic processing to convert some of its glucose into fructose to produce a desired sweetness. Agave nectar's glycemic index and glycemic load are comparable to fructose (is not HFCS), it in turn has a much lower glycemic index and glycemic load than table sugar.

They sell truly raw organic unpasteurized almonds ( they are imported so they bypass the FDA ) - Livingnutz
An important note for all: You cannot purchase truly raw (unpasteurized) almonds from grocers and health food stores. You may only purchase unpasteurized almonds direct from the farmers. The store varieties which are deceivingly labeled as "raw" are pasteurized as per FDA law passed in 2007. Pasteurized almonds cannot germinate and are essentially useless for any health benefits!!!
