An oldie from a Disney Records LP from 1969, featuring songs from the Wizard of Oz re-recorded, plus a few additional songs not featured in the film, including this one about the Scarecrow. Sorry about the quality, I'm not set up to rip LP recordings directly to my computer. This soundtrack is pretty rare these days, but this happened to be my fave of the album.

  • Wow! I love YouTube and people like you who are good hearted enough to find and post things like these. I had COMPLETELY forgotten about this song, but like the other poster, I have been looking for "Just Call Me Smarmy". When I searched for Disneyland Records, your post came up. As soon as I saw the album jacket, "Ohh, yeah! I remember that!"

    You Rock!!

  • @MrNostalgia1968 You're welcome, I just wish it was more widely available so people could enjoy a better quality version than mine, but it's one of my all time fave goofy songs, even included it in one my own graphic novels for kicks, and it's catchy as all get out. If I can find that tape (I know it's around here somewhere), I'll try to get Smarmy up, but it's not gonna be much better than this, only have it on an old cassette tape. Thanks for viewing!

  • There is a video of a Mexican stage production of The Wizard of Oz in which "Just Call Smarmy" is a song adapted for the witch as she makes a potion that will make Dorothy and her friends fall asleep, which is ultimately what gets dumped on her and causes her to melt. To give the Wizard (or rather, Professor Marvel) a song, they adapted "The Jitterbug."
