Several Photos by Jeffery D. Allred, Deseret News (2010)
Nine months after receiving a heart transplant, and surviving 37 years on only a single ventricle, I made a goal to climb Mount Olympus, one of the highest peaks and difficult climbs along the Wasatch Front, in honor of my brother who passed away while I waited for a donor heart.
With family and friends we climbed on the anniversary of my brother's passing, June 9th. We reached the peak after several hours of steep trail climbing.
Everyone should do this hike. It's incredible!
