The hiv- and aids-epidemic not only has a great impact on families and communities, it also affects organizations and companies through sickness and death of employees. HIV-positive employees often have to deal with stigma and discrimination on the work floor. Together with its' local partners, VSO is tackling these and many other aspects of the aids-epidemic.
This happens through, amongst others, the Right to Life (R2L) programme, where VSO strive for a dignified life for people living with HIV and aids.

VSO helps organizations and companies in Africa and Asia to set up an effective internal HIV and aids-workplace policy. How do you keep your employees healthy? How do you make aids an open point for discussion on the work floor? With a good aids-policy employers can help their employees (and their families) stay healthier and provide them with a positive atmosphere within the organization. In this way greater numbers are being reached than by taking the individual approach.
VSO works together with organizations like Nope, Kenya. This organization has vast experience in the area of HIV and aids workplace policy. Nope supports organizations and companies like Unilever and Barclays establish and implement these.

Within the framework of World Aids Day, VSO Nederland invited Nope Director, Philip Mbugua, to visit. In this film he gives his professional comments, from daily experience, on a workshop over aids in the workplace. He also explains the working partnership with VSO within the framework of the Right to Life Programme.
