I remember watching... hearing Robert sing on weekends when he was homeless, singing for change in Detroit's Farmer's Market... his haunting voice echoing through the vegetable stands every weekend, all the time thinking, 'damn, someone needs to do something with this guy!' Bless you Robert!

This song is nostalgic of the Great American Democracy. Today, american democracy has been replaced by Plutonomy; all aspects of a citizen are now under the economic control of the Ruling Class. In a way, Robert's delivery and voice in this song laments the death of a nation, and thinking of earlier days.
