I have one of these loops from PY1AHD and I think they are the best all round portable QRP antenna on the market. I would like to see the remote tuning part be made available commercially too, as operating the radio from within a tent/caravan/indoors would not need to keep going outside. Great video - 73 Mike M0SAZ

Hi Steve, I am really happy to see your perfect made video. Steve WGOAT, Roaster and Peanut are the most well known personalities on the HFpack field Mike WA8EBM was testing his AlexLoop Walkham for the first time and. Mike's super station can be seen on QRZ. com. I am hardly working for the last 10 years designing and field testing SML antennas, and I am really happy with this video. 73 to all and thank you very much. PY1AHD ALEX Alexandre Grimberg PY1AHD

Very cool Steve! Hopefully you will do a review discussing the AlexLoop antenna.

@goathiker - you'll surely know the difference since you have much experience with the buddie pole and other antennas. Let us know how that pans out. I still would like to have an Alex Loop in my QRP arsenal. 73!

Nice antenna/demonstration - thanks Steve!
I've built these for QRO capability and they work great. Guess I could easy build one for QRP but like the way Alex had simplified the build for portable use. In next vid would be nice to see how much Directivity there is on it. When you turned it you mentioned a better signal strength. How much? 73!

@N2RRAny ...It's hard to quantify the directivity. I would swing the loop and the signal would bounce up for 1-sec then drop the next! QSB was making it rough to pin point loop's directivity ...if anything it seemed sorta broad with it's null being easier to determine. I just need more time with it to honestly say!
