gud song. short video clip included

Tell me all about this name, that is difficult to say.
It was given me the day I was born.
Want to know about the stories of the empire of old.
My eyes say more of me than what you dare to say.

All I know of you is all the sights of war.
A film by Coppola, the helicopters roar.

One day Ill touch your soil.
One day Ill finally know your soul.
One day Ill come to you.
To say hello Vietnam.

Tell me all about my colour, my hair and my little feet that have carried me every mile of the way.
Want to see your house, your streets.
Show me all I do not know.
Wooden sampans, floating markets, light of gold.

All I know of you is the sights of war.
A film by Coppola, the helicopters roar.
One day Ill touch your soil.
One day Ill finally know your soul.
One day Ill come to you.
To say hello Vietnam.

And Buddhas made of stone watch over me. My dreams they lead me through the fields of rice.
In prayer, in the light I see my kin.
I touch my tree, my root... my begin.

One day Ill touch your soil.
One day Ill finally know your soul.
One day Ill come to you.
To say hello Vietnam.

One day Ill walk your soil.
One day Ill finally know your soul.
One day Ill come to you.
To say hello Vietnam.
To say hello Vietnam.
To say xin chao Vietnam

  • @tnguyen403 while it may be a well known fact the U.S. Gov never admitted that there was a Chi Com or russian presence on the battlefield. They didint want to produce a scare of a massive chiniese assault similar to the Korean war years earlier. Thats all I'm saying.

  • Very nice song Quynh Anh. I hope to hear more songs from you.

  • '73...after all of the straight legs went home....takin' out the trash....living in the shadows of a dying war.....can't bring myself to say more.....can't...........

  • Hue, 1968 Tet offensive, Left part of me there and it still haunts the gooners.

  • Enhance your calm. Read the book of a friend of mine that I served with. "Leave No Man Behind" We are still in contact on a daily basis. Viet Nam was a controversial encounte rwith communism. However, My personal experience with the people of Viet Nam indicated to me that they are a very loving people. It's the leaders that mess it all up.

  • Evocative, Nice to start replacing memories with something better. NKP 74-75.

  • We pulled out in '73. The north invaded the south in violations of their Paris Peace Accords agreement in '75. The Democrats in Congress refused to supply or assist the South Vietnamese who were overwhelmed, causing them to lose the country and flee to America and othe countries. Democrats come in two flavors: Socialist and Communist. All hate American and a free society. Hence them helping Ho Chi Minh (along with the mainscream media).

  • @BAMBI243 1979 huh? And you were sewing up the victims of rape by Americans? 4 years after the last American left, and a good 7 years after the bulk of the troops were out of the country. Whatever you were smoking over there it must have been good. You exhibit great creativity. USMC Marble Mountain 1970-71.

  • I dont mean to be rude but the British did FAR more than just "Help the americans"North africa was a british colony and it was genral montgomery and the 8th army that lead to the defeat of rommel! Also British forces surplied more than half the troops on D-day and eventully lead to a break outacross france(although with some delay) and fought along side american troops right until the end of the war.also Germany didnt kick the British asses in the battle of britain, We won it

  • I was working for the voluntary services overseas and was working in Vietnam and Cambodia in field hospitals

  • @BAMBI243 ur pretty sick, have u been watching the casualties of war a lil too much?? what branch were u in anyway
