  • Someone beat that cameraman or editor. At 1:23 or so The Otter's Holt starts with just Kevin Burke and Donal Lunny playing. The camera first fixates on Lunny with the bodhran, and then drifts off into the audience while Burke is absolutely ripping this mighty tune out. Sigh. I love that part of this set.

Sorry, I feel better now, thanks.

  • This is one of my favorite bands of all time. I found them in high school in the mid 80's and have had a richer life since because of them. Thank you to the band. Hope you pass your craft along.

  • @SWFLFiddler here is the same set in a different setting and this time the cameraman decides to focus more on Burke when he is ripping through the Otter's Holt....

    Enjoy.

  • Kevin Burke is rippin'

I wouldn't be surprised to see that fiddle burst into flame!

  • Aye, I can remember when I was a young man like Donal Lunny there, I used to have my long brown hair tied back in a pony tail. Now it's grey and short. But thanks Donal for reminding me how beautiful Irish music is.

  • No matter how many times I listen to this tune Matt Molloy always sends chills down my spine.

  • @murlach1 Kevin as a tousled-hair slip of a boy. He's the king, for me.

  • @contact5310 Yes its a peculiar situation - a seemingly indifferent audience - am glad things have changed - but Irish DANCING evolved with hands by the sides to avoid signs that you might be putting yourself about too much. Enjoyment in Ireland was a risky business in case the priest saw it as the devil's handiwork and downright risky if you were a woman.

  • @IGotDot ..es i posted exactly the same comment elsewhere!!
